Rappelling · Natural water slides · Waterfall jumps · Madeiran ribeira
Canyoning is descending a mountain canyon using rope techniques, natural water slides, jumps into pools, and rappels down waterfalls. Level 2 is designed for people who have never done this before. Technical enough to be the real thing, accessible enough that no prior experience is needed.
The canyon we use for Level 2 is carved by thousands of years of water through Madeira's volcanic rock. You'll rappel down waterfalls, slide through natural chutes, and jump into crystal pools in sections most tourists never reach. Everything at your own pace. Nobody is pushed.
Marcos reads the group and adapts the session to the energy in the canyon. Want to push further? He'll take you there. Need to take it steady? That's perfectly fine.
No experience needed. This is the perfect entry point into canyoning.
Inside Madeira's ribeiras: a world completely invisible from the road.

From age 8 up. Great for couples, friends and family groups looking for something real.
Meet at 15:00 at Curral das Freiras – Capela São Rafael. Transport from Funchal is included.

"Remote Madeira is awesome!!! Canyoning was incredible — rappelling down waterfalls, jumps and slides. We finished the day off having poncha with Marcos and João at a local bar. Fabulous start to end!!"
"Great experience. Marcus is very professional and made us feel super safe all the way! No problem going for a level 4 next time."
"This was absolutely my favorite experience in Madeira! Marcos and his team made it simple and so fun. He was patient with everyone, always reiterating that jumps were optional while still encouraging us to experience it all."
No experience needed. Level 2 is specifically designed for first-timers. Marcos will walk you through all the techniques before you enter the canyon.
Most people are surprised by how manageable it feels with proper guidance. Marcos reads the group and adapts. Nothing is mandatory. You always have a choice on every jump or rappel.
Moderate fitness is helpful but not essential. The session involves some hiking to reach the canyon, scrambling over rocks, and swimming. If you're active in daily life, you'll be fine.
Minimum age is 8 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons related to the rope and harness systems used.
Safety comes first. Canyoning can be affected by rainfall (which raises water levels in the ribeira). Marcos monitors conditions and will contact you in advance if the session needs to be rescheduled or refunded.
